"Not relevant" is my mantra!
![]() Several years ago, Simpsons Ltd had a C96 w/bent barrel/barrel extension for sale. I posted about it here; the barrel was indeed bent. I emailed them and was told they accepted offers; Alvin, you even suggested I submit a lower offer than their posted price. They declined; I emailed them a couple more times over the next 9 - 12 months, no deal. Polite but firm. Finally, it no longer appeared on their site. Ah, here's the thread - http://forum.lugerforum.com/showthread.php?t=22546 I was not terribly concerned about a bent barrel; as long as the receiver wasn't damaged, I could salvage it. ![]()

Earlier, saw forum member bidding on it, must be attracted by the rare marking, but with that bent barrel,,, it'll be a headache. Just post a reminder. But the auction is over now. So, irrelevant anymore.
Gunbroker.com has good stuffs from time to time. I just acquired five rods (four are original, one is replica), $101 shipping included. Very useful stuff. My spouse is very unhappy on this purchase, "You spent $100 on a few screwdrivers??"....... hard for me to explain this is not screwdriver, it can be used as a screwdriver but it's not a regular screwdriver, etc. The more I explain, the more confusing. So I shut up. |

I know. Each time I receive a newly acquired item, no matter how confident I am on it, I will feel a little bit nervous when I open the shipping box, worrying there could be one or two hidden issues. Only feel relaxed after checking everything. Not having a variation is usually better than having a gun with annoying issue. Of course, if it came very cheap, then different story, but many items do not come cheap, that's reality of collector's life.
