Phil, looks like you got a nice deal. If the pistol is all matching, you got a GREAT deal. Tom is correct, as usual, about the magazine. It will cost about $150 to $250 to get a proper magazine, depending on the condition.

Thanks yes took apart to clean on Friday and ALL parts are original and match. Gun was in a storage locker for more than 30 years before I bought so just some basic cleaning. I have a numbered magazine so may just keep it as a complete unit

I was reluctant to post info until I saw the dates on the most recent postings.
I just picked up a byf #3670a, 8,82. |

Papaorca, thanks for the data. Is your Luger a 41 byf or 42 byf? The data range is in the 41 byf production.

Ed, thanks its a real nice luger. I believe it a veteran bring back came in US shoulder Holster with soft skin leather cover sowed to fit gun. (feels like a chmois towel)
I will add pics as soon I learn...lol. It tells me to add URL? Thanks again Rich ![]() Last edited by pappers1; 07-24-2014 at 10:24 AM. |

Benjamin, thank for the data on your Luger. Mauser Military Luger byf 42, serial number 975e, was completed about March 1942. Beyond that, there isn't much more I can add.

Benjamin, U Betcha! Either a blank bottom aluminum or black plastic fxo would be correct!
