The det cord outrunning the .50cal round was toooo cool!

I have a Marine buddy from 'Nam who was in the Engineers. He once told me that during one of the many periods of life-sucking boredom he and his buds figured out that if a det cord stretched from San Francisco to Da Nang was set off in "Frisco" the detonation could make the trip in about nine minutes!
