I have been after this rig for 5 years. It belonged to my uncle's girlfriend and he finally talked her into selling to me Sunday. 1936 S/42 all matching but for the e/63 mag. The holster is marked e/2 and WALZ under the flap. No spare mag and she can't find the loading tool.
Her dad was in the army in the PTO and won the bronze star at Leyte. In post-war Occupied Japan he was an aid to Gen. Leonard Wing. Her dad retired in 1969 as a colonel. All she knows is he traded someone for the Luger while he was in Japan. I'd rate the finish as 80-85% with no abuse, just wear. The bore is not bad. It's very clean and the grips are near perfect. They are both marked "W" and "G". Fire blue is still present on the pins. ![]() ![]()

Jim, congratulations on your family heirlooms.
I expect that you know that a E/2 inspected holster would have been procured with Krieghoff lugers. These are quite rare and valuable. Marc

I learned about the e/2 in the holster section and was very pleasantly surprised. I won't sell it but for insurance purposes what kind of value would there be on this rig or the holster as a stand alone item?
