Like everyone I was rather busy with the holiday season but that didn't stop my collecting needs!
First I picked up a Mauser C96 that from what I can tell by the serial number was manufactured somewhere between 1912 & 1914. Next after that is a Webley Mark 1 (cylinder converted for .45 acp) that it's serial number puts it manufacture at 1890. Both are completely serial number matching and mechanically in good shape. |

And lastly is a Colt Model 1917 revolver that it's serial number puts its manufacture in 1919. This one I am going to write Colt & pay the fee to get a letter. Both it's finish & mech is in good shape!
Every time I handle it I think back of Indy using his in "Raiders of the lost Ark" to shoot the swordsman coming at him! ![]() Anything more you guys might be able to tall me about them would be great. I'll add some more detailed pics when I can. |

![]() Just a nit pick, but the revolver used to shoot the swordsman in the first Indi movie is a Smith & Wesson Hand Ejector II |

![]() Just curious alanint if you know, was the brushing on the upper front of the barrel done at the factory or was it someone's idea later. Plus is it to diffuse any potential reflection of light or what? |

Thank's padredan, good to know!
Hi Marc, yes when I can get low power Black powder loaded non jacketed .45 acp cartridges I definitely will. The person who sold it to me told me he would have such loads at the next gun show in Del Mar California in a few months but if I can find some beforehand I'll buy them up. |

I think you did just fine.
The Broomhandle is a Pre-WWI Standard Commercial and it looks very good, as I would expect for a 100 year old gun in collectable condition. I also think your Colt 1917 deserves a letter from the factory. |

Cool items.
I visited a few local gun stores last weekend, and bought another 20 boxes PPU 7,63x25 ammo. If importation of ammo is cut in future, we could run out of those uncommon ammo. |
