I ran into a 1900 AE Commercial # 18xxx, in fair shape (has been used A LOT) today. Since I'm out of town I have no reference books.
Are they in demand? Any Wild Guess as to a good price to pay? I didn't check it out as price was too high to my liking; but later thought that since i didn't know how desirable it might be, I thought I would seek help. I can go back and get it in the morning - after a phone call - if I get some guidance. thanx Jack ![]() |

They are asking $ 1,800; which I thought was too high to take a serious look at and walked out.
Then I had second thoughts about it because I didn't really know anything about that classification of lugers. Didn't want to leave a diamond in the rough - do to ignorance on my part; if you know what I mean? thanx Jack ![]() |

They are a specialty item, value is around $1700 to $2400 for nice ones, higher at the bigger gun dealers. If well worn, that is about $300 or more to high.
I had two for sale at Tom Whitemans, to include a test Luger, no offers, so we sent them to auction. I love them, but harder to sell than a military gun.

Because Ed Tinker stated that $ 1,800 plus for a nice one and this one is in fair condition so I'm guessing that I wouldn't be interested except maybe $ 1,100 - $ 1,200 and I think I would be whistling Dixie to make that attempt.
So I'll just leave well enough alone and not be the Jerk in the equation. In other words I won't poke this skunk. thanx Jack |

Ed & Tom have a couple nice ones in that range on their site...I was interested in one of Tom's 1900's but I already had made an offer on the one I got...

1900 AE's price varies big time. Looks like excellent ones still sell around $5k, not far away from its blue book value. I just sold one last month.
