Default Ammo carrier

Here is an ammo carrier for what I would guess to be for an MG34. It is maker marked "bdk" and dated "41" and waffenampt. Inside it holds a 250 round belt of ammo. The ammo is all marked the same "hrn 43", except for every sixth round is a black tip (tracer?) round that is marked "69d" and "35"(date?) (see photos).

I was wondering if anyone could explain the ammo to me, and also give an estimate as to value of this carrier (including the belt and ammo)

Thanks,
Matt

This is indeed an ammo box for either the MG34 or MG 42. It is designed for vehicle mounting, usually for a coaxial gun. The black tipped rounds are tracers.

You can try to look up the manufacturer through their code here;

Thanks for the info! Do you have any idea as to current value for the carrier, belt, and all the rounds?

I don't since it is highly specialized.

One thing you might want to do is show it around the MVPA site, (Military Vehicle Preservation Assoc.) These are the guys with the interest and the means to pay you top dollar.
