Minus 15F this AM. There's a lot of brass monkeys singing soprano out there. Or is it 'Castrati"?

Poor fellows! It's very cold here in Yuma Az too! 66 degrees! Sunny with a slight breeze to move the palm fronds.
If it gets below 50 here people start wearing hooded parkas... Jerry Burney

Well guys here in Northern KY we've had a full day of freezing rain and ice, snow, rain and cold. Tomorrow we're going to have more of the same with the temp dropping off to 13. Today was my first day of retirement, wow what a good day to not have to go out.

Congratulations Bill. I've been retired for a little over 10 years and I highly recommend it. It won't be long until you wonder how you had time to work for a living because you have so much you want to do now. Live it and love it.

I was smart enough to schedule a business trip to Miami Beach, it's mid 70's here. However, I really wish I was back in Boulder with my wife....

A little ice on the car and driveway this morning - the streets were clear. The ice on the cars vanished when it warmed up. It is almost 11 PM and the temperature is 34 degrees. The weather guy on Tv says it will only go to 30 tonoght.

Congrats Bill. Retirement is a big life change. More than most expect. I did it about 13 years ago, and it took me around 18 months to settle in. Then as they say," When did I ever have time to go to work."
Made it to -20 last night, but by Fri we're supposed to be back in the low 40's daytime. Dobers have to be booted out to pee. Got lots of firewood, pine and elm, so I'm in good shape here. FN |

Bill, congratulations!
I retired in 2004, and promptly went back out and started working again in a field I'd been interested in all my life. It's actually more like play than work (and we have really good "toys" at the office...). Now if we could only dispense with the office politics... Another few years of it, and I'll probably retire again! BTW, it's going to hit 70 degrees today in Raleigh, NC. I am from Chicago - you know, the city that you can't see any more...... I'm happy to have made that move... Marc

My wife just sent me this photo of our place, 15 below and bright sunshine! Gosh, I wish I was there. Regards, Norm.
P.S. Sorry it's pronated-that's how she sent it and I don't know how to rotate it. |
