Default question markings on luger

I have a byf black with match parts code 42. great shape. the problem is
on the side of the pistol it says MIL TEX, INC. LA PLATA, MD.

DOES THIS ADD OR SUBTRACT FROM THE PRICE.

Scott,

I'm sure board moderators will move this into the proper forum, but to quickly answer your question; What you are describing is an "import mark" or the information an importer must add to a firearm when importing it into the US. This mark SUBSTANTIALLY decreases the value of any firearm it is applied to, unless the piece is so rare that desirability mitigates the stamp, (almost impossible since importers know full well what they have when they purchase it).
Additionally, almost all Lugers with said stamp have undergone arsenal refinishing or other types of modification, which further decreases their collector value.
A mid range value for the pistol you are describing is perhaps $700.
Hope this helps.
