Default Broken ejector question

I was cleaning my 1938 S/42 luger on Sunday and found that the ejector was broken and the triangle part was completely gone.
I immediately called Lugerdoc to get a new one. (Lugerdoc, you should be getting my letter and check soon)

Later I started thinking that I wasnâ??t having noticeable ejection problems. Iâ??m thinking that ether it broke off on the last shot, or that the other cartrages in the magazine were pushing the spent round out.

Any thoughts, if the latter could happen.

Thanks,

Chris

It is more likely that the tip of the ejector is still in the operable zone to effect ejection when you shoot. Don't depend on it, change it as soon as the replacement arrives.

Thanks,

The whole triangle section was completely gone along with the part that it was attached to. Maybe it broke on the last shot. I took the rest of it off until the new one arrives.

Lugerdoc

The ejector looked great, and all but one of the dimensions were identical to the old one. It popped right in after only a minute or so with a file to shrink the round part in the rear down to fit in the mating hole in the side of the recieve. The old one was filed there too.

Thanks,

Chris
