Hopefully someone can give me some info. My grandfather had a luger that he got off a german solider in Switzerland. There is no grip safety and has the DWM mark. There is also a crown mark and a N stamp. Serial # is 4 digit in the 5000's.
Any info appreciated. |

John,
From your short description... it's most likely an Alphabet DWM commercial, made from 1921 to 1928. It is most likely a 30 cal. Luger/ 7.65mm. There will be a cursif lower case letter below the serial# on the front of the frame and under the barrel. It is part of the serial#, ie... 5000i. Pictures would be needed to verify this. Mike C.

Tac; one possible answer - depositing stolen gold protecting it with his Luger. Gold later to become the property of the bank. Just a thought
