I suggest that anyone who has a luger holster or any other for that matter read Marvin's article . It will give you something to mull over... Jerry

you may also want to read this draft of the leather care and preservation information site now in development. All information is based on materials chemistry and published research including the accumulated advice of some of the top museums conserving organic materials.

I am no expert in this field, but I ran across some sites that do work on leather, to include:

I have a holster that is apart (dried out) and I might try the 1st methods they suggest. Don't have much to lose.
