Question Jan Stillâ??s Books

I went to the gun show in West Palm Beach Sunday, although I saw some Lugers (all over priced) the most notable thing that I saw, I would like to share with you guys.

Jan Stillâ??s Books
Imperial Lugers $250.00
Third Reich Luger $250.00

This dealer had a few copies of each and he held his price firm. Thatâ??s over 4 X the original cost.

Is this cost consistence with prices in other parts of the country ? or are these just Palm Beach prices

Jim

Jim,

I think the prices are pretty much consistent everywhere. Averaging $250-$300+.

At Christmas I bought a 2nd copy of Weimar and 3rd Reich from Jan, figured, might as well have "spares" at normal prices... The dealers don't realize those two are still available (if Jan still has any copies.)

Imperial is the one that is tough to find and commands the highest price.

I have been reorganizing all of my books. I find that I have four Axis Pistols books (three different printings I think), three Imperial Luger Books (two printings) two Third Reich luger books, three of the paperback Vol 1. and only one Wiemar luger book. I also found three of the Clawson's book on the 1911 and 1911A1 service pistols (one 1991 edition and two 1993 editions). Look what happens when books are not kept in one place.

I also collected together in one spot all of my Hardy Boy books from when I was a kid. My son-in-law wants those.

Do you have any plans to sell your duplicate copies, Lew?

Actually, I had not thought that far along. I still have to do something with the books I have at work, although I think that most of them, but not all, pertain to the war involving northern aggression.

I went to the Portland show last weekend and a book dealer there had 2 of Jan Still's Third Reich books at $175 each. His email is rconant@ida.net

I have bought books from him in the past but have no other connection to him. He does always seem to have a good selection of hard to find books.

Jans new book is supposed to supplant this book. I still plan on keeping this book for a ref, but folks might want to just wait until end of summer (his book should be published by then...)

No, Ron: you see, the same warmongers who engineered an invasion OF Canada in the early party of the 19th century, later staged an invasion of the Southern republics in voluntary association with them, in the middle of the 19th century.

Sehr gut! I'll just wait for the new book to come out, rather than try to track down Imperial, and spend a small fortune acquiring it.

Unhappy I started the bidding...

...at the minimum asked $100.00: but I know that's not going to win it.
