Let's try this one. I have about a month to save up for it.
Wartime Commercial 7.63mm all matching with some restoration. Bore is good and springs are strong. ![]() As always, your comments are appreciated. Russell ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

All matching is definately a plus! What did they do in the restoration? I stuck with a shooter myself, 9mm. Couldn't afford a pretty one like this. Its alot of fun to shoot, especially with the stock. Thats why I got the 9mm. Finding or reloading 30mm is just a pain in the a@#

I understand FNM makes .30 cal. that can be had for $12.00/50 rounds. I'll have to check into it. I probably won't shoot it anywhere nearly as often as my Artillery Luger which is my favorite. I'm still a bit confused about whether 7.62mm is what is available and how different that is from 7.63mm Mauser. At first I thought wanted a Prussian Contract Red 9 so I could use the same ammo as my Lugers. After I came to understand the greater range and penetration of the .30 cal. along with the availability and affordability of the .30 cal. Broomhandles over all I let myself be convinced this is the way to go.
I do not plan to become a re-loader though. Maybe later for that. Maybe even a Red 9 someday. I don't care much for the short-barrel Bolos. The restoration seems to have been limited to limited to re-bluing probably done in Germany a long time ago based on the color. This is based on the assessment by the seller, Mike Krause. There is no way I could figure these things out. Russell

Russell,
7.63 Mauser and 7.62 Tokarev is interchangable, but 7.62 Tokarev is often too hot for the C96. It's not a good idea to shoot Tokarev ammo in a pistol intended for the lower pressures of the Mauser. You could cause some severe damage to the pistol and yourself. Ron

Ron, you have verified what I heard about Tokarev ammo. So what ammo should be used? FNM? Fiocchi? I have not yet even looked to see if any of these are available in this area. I'm sure Mike will tell me and have whatever I need when the time comes. He will test it out first anyway. But I find I benefit greatly from the many experts on the Forum.
Russell
