Hi all,
I found this on gunbroker.com any comments; I don't know enough about holsters to know if this is correct or not. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...?Item=49259439 Thanks, Bob M. |

Hey Bob,
How ya been? I could be wrong, but I would be suspicious of it. Just looks too good. Ron

The stitching doesn't look correct. It has two rows inside below the lid. It doesn't have stitching that goes across the entire holster below the belt loops.
The pull strap is attached way too high. I would pass on it, but I think we need Jerry's (lugerholsterrepair) opinion. Tracy |

Gentlemen all, This is a total repro. I could go on at great lengths...This fellow does not know holsters. If I had more time I would list the many reasons. Do not fall for his reassurances of authenticity. Jerry Burney

Hi to all,
I appreciate your response. I was very suspicious of this but I am not close to being a holster expert. I was not sure that commercials were even made in this configuration. I did spot the stitching that didn't go past the belt loops in the back and the shape of the tool holder didn't look right. Jerry I respect you as "the athoritiy" on holsters so that settles it for me. Ron, I haven't been on as much as I have in the past but I am starting to get a little more time and trying to at least read most of the post if possible. I will be going through Eugene on June 3, on the way to Reno for a old car tour. should get there around noon or a little after if you want to get together for coffee and a bull session? Send me a PM and let me know if you will be around. Ed, what have you been up to? I still owe you some pictures of my simsons, and I am about out of excuses for not taking them and sending them to you. If we get a day this week with good weather I'll take them outside and shoot some shots. Thanks everyone for the info. Bob M. |

...what Jerry said.
I'm no expert, but I know what I don't like. I don't like this holster at all. but I do like this seller's repro 98 sniper. I also don't like his Kreighoff/DWM rework (but I like that holster).

This fellow may have been given a line about this holster from whoever he got it from. I have no objections to his selling it as a repro but to guarentee it's originality as a genuine period holster is folly at best and deceptive at worst. This is an example of not being taken in by the story or guarentee, buyer beware. Do your homework. Let the novices learn the hard way.......Keep your money in your pocket for the good stuff.
