Thanks Ed. That was what I was looking for. I never found the n code for nitro until a minute ago, and now I understand more what I have, where before I really didn't. I may wanna sell it, what is the minimum I should consider being fair?

A "shooter" luger goes from $400-$600, all depending on where you are in the country. I would hazard a guess that yours, with the excessive worn grip would sell for less than one in much better shape, although it is not in horrible shape. Value probably in the $450-$600, but if it is in 7.65, they have trouble selling for more than $500, as many folks are turned off by the caliber. Also, for whatever reasons the "1920 commercials" do not sell for near as much as say a WW1 or WW2 pistol.

All depends on condition and originality, so if the firing pin or breechblock has been replaced, it could be worth less to most collectors.

thanks guys any info you can give to us is appriciated ,,, along with trix i am the one that also found the gun and were not sure weather its worth selling or just for one of use to hold on to it for a shooter...my heart jumped about 300 beats a min when i realized what i had in my hand..that day i found that..being a gun owner and a enthusiast of some sorts...i knew a little bit of the basics of the gun.. i knew what it was and what i would be throwing away if i put it back up there and not said anything to either trix or the homeowner... had this been a detroit house i might as well have..but no matter the outcome of the our findings now, i can still sleep at night knowing at least this 1 gun is in the hands of someone responsable.and that to me is better than the 15,000$ it could have been worth...thanks for all your help
