What? My M1 carbine does NOT qualify for the "assault" category under the NY State S.A.F.E. Act. Perhaps this is because mine does not have a bayonet lug--which, of course would make it much more deadly.

There is another member from the Garden State whose grandfather's Luger was confiscated--out of the blue--along with another pistol. It took him a couple of years, but he finally got them back. Apparently their lard-butt Republican governor isn't doing much to help firearm owners.

Maybe that Lard Butt Republican Governor has to deal with too many elected liberal democrats? To insinuate that this is a result of Republican inaction is, at best, intellectually vacant.

No, I meant that it was unusual for a Republican not to be on top of 2nd Amendment help. Of course, any member of any party can have performance that is antithetical to the way one might expect. Sanders--a very liberal Liberal--was laissez-faire about gun control. Vermont has it pretty together on crime and violence without a bunch of strict laws. I'll predict that most of the new laws that appear will be Nanny-state in nature, and as ineffective as they are irrational and intrusive.
