Thought everyone would enjoy seeing this GB auction! What I really like is the "proof" of correct straw by comparison to a 42 Mauser Banner Commercial!

what's a byf doing with strawed parts?

Why can't I get prices like this for restored (albeit incorrectly) guns?

Gee I have a 41 with strawed small parts. I never knew it was an officer's model.

The scary part is the auction went to 2,700 dollars and started at a penny. Just think if the grips were sprayed black it could have been an "Officer's Black Widow" imagine what it would have brought then!

WTF? That one also appears to be rust blued. Am I missing something or did Toneitup just get ripped off?
Just for the sake of conversation, does anyone believe that this is an honestly finished gun?

Commercial Banners were still being made after 1937 with strawed parts, that one is not a Banner.

The one in pic 14 of the link that was provided is probably a Commercial Banner, notice the description didn't say what was on the toggle link, only the date above the chamber.

Someone got harpooned on the auction..
