H:
There are some mag. collectors who will tell you in the style mag. is correct for that gun, but I have a question for you. What is the squiggly little letter under the serial number on the front of the frame, and can you photo/post it? That will help.

My understanding is that "42" marked mags are armorer replaced and would normally not have a serial number. Besides, the font is not even close to the numbers on the gun. It certainly is not the factory matched magazine to this gun.

Hi Hector, There was a change in magazine types during 1940. As David has said, we need to know this gun's full serial number, with suffix, to be able to help you. The suffix is visible on the front of the frame, just below the serial number. Regards, Norm

Default Suffix

I can post another pic but to me it looks like an h serial#is 2127 and the bottom of the mag German eagle inspector mark 63 with 42 on top which I don't understand. All serial #s match on the Luger including the mag but I hope it is not a copy mag?
Thanks
Hector

Hi Hector, As Alan has pointed out, your mag is an armorer's replacement that was numbered to your gun. It is not a fake, it is a field replacement. The original mag for your gun would have looked like the one shown. Regards, Norm

What do you mean armorer replacement? Sorry i am still learning, would that lower the value of the luger since it is a replacement mag? All serial#s match including smaller internal #s. What do you think it would be worth then my luger?
thank you
Hector
