Battlefield relic..

I got this relic from a guy who found it in a Champagne-Ardennes battlefield. Before and after electrolyse treatment photos..the elevator mechanism is still fonctionning !

I understand the principle behind electrolisis; however, I would be interested in knowing the specifics that were used to restore this item. Do you know how much electricity was used and also what solution it sat in while this was taking place? Thank you for sharing such a wonderful artifact.

my english is too poor to explain the electrolyse mechanism..but it is really simple to realize (I am not at all a technician..). I can just post this scheme..I am sure some american member will explain this system here !

Greetings, Gentlemen,

I have used this method of extreme rust removal in the past on some of my really bad antique revolvers. It does a fine job, but the pits look a lot bigger with all the rust out of them. Here's a link:

I have got a similar TM08 a few months ago.
Mine is from the Verdun battlefield.
In my TM08, in really poor condition (see the page "Relic TM08 from Verdun Battle" on my web site), the Schutzkappe is still present.
