Gentlemen, A while back someone mentioned their favorite leather softener on this Forum. I have an excellent KNIL on my repair bench that needs some so the flap will bend again without breaking or cracking...Connoly's is great for conditioning but it is really not a softener. Anyone have any experiences they could share? Thanks, Jerry Burney

Yo Herd Bud,
There was a concoction on the market until about 4 years ago when the Klintonista tree huggers persuaded the EPA Nazis to ban it because of some witches brew chemicals it contained. The stuff was called "Leather Rejuvinator" and I got my supply from a hobby supply store in Mesa AZ, I think. The stuff works miracles. It is a higly volatile mixture of some solvents that probably could give cancer to a **** roach along with some lanolin and bees wax. The solids were dissolved in the solvents and you simply applied a coat with a small paint brush and let it soak in overnight. Next day, voila!(As the cheese eating surrender monkeys say)the leather is soft and has a light wax coating. A touch with a soft cloth and the job is done. I have about 4 OZ of the stuff left, but alas, it is in VA and I am in Alabama. Perhaps you can find someone who still has a supply of this wonderful stuff. Tom A |

Tom, Thanks, I will search high and low for it now that I have it's moniker. Sounds like it would do the trick. Thanks...Your 173rd Bro, Jerry
