Post Odd Holster ?? & 1915 DWM

I bought a near mint 1915 DWM yesterday.(see photo). It was in this holster w/imperial tool. The odd part is the holster. P.38 soft shell style, pebble grain or pig skin. It has the tool pouch and a flap to cover the butt of the pistol. The side flap is ink stamped "WW 1500 P.08". There's a faint stamped horizontal oval to the right of the belt loops with "BAUTMAN 1951" on the back. does anyone know anything about it?

I have run across several of these; some were waffened, others not. Strongly suspect that they were late war and early post war production general purpose holsters for use with P-08 and P-38 pistols.

Tom, Thanks! I've also been told it was an E. German issue.

This is an East Germany Generic holster for both the P 38 and Lugers used by the East Germans. There was a write on such a holster in an artical on holsters that appeared in The American Rifleman years ago.
