Thumbs up Good Ol USA

Many of us have a real love for these German Pistols as evidenced by our posts and pictures of them. I just wonder if other countries would have a similar level of interest in collection American pistols, S&W, Colts, Ruger, etc HAD they the opportunity to do so. We are so darn LUCKY and BLESSED to have this freedom. Keep us that way with votes for those that support our freedom, especially our rights as gun owners. Each time I hear of a new Luger pistol acquistion by one of our members I think "how lucky we are to have such freedom to enjoy". Lets keep American Free and Strong! May God bless the USA and our Men and Women of the US Military <img border="0" alt="[soapbox]" title="" src="graemlins/soapbox.gif" />

Dear Thor:

Luck had nothing to do with it. The only price for freedom is blood. I certainly thank those who gave some of theirs for us.

Sieger, my dad bled for this country on 5 different occasions, so believe me I understand the price of freedom though I do not appreciate it to the extent he did, I cannot. We are indeed blessed to live in the USA.

Hi Thor,

Actually, the pre-1900's American handguns are getting a collector's foothold here. As these percussion fronloaders are considered to be antiques they can be traded without problems here.

Saw some nice examples on display in Belgium, including a nice cased Paterson Colt with all accessories.

I'm going to add a nice 1860's colt to my collection some day

Gerben,
I wish you good luck in acquiring a nice 1860s Colt. Even though my collection is mainly Imperial era Lugers, I do have an 1849 Colt Pocket Revolver with a 4" barrel that is one of my favorite pieces. A little diversity is a good thing.
