Got My Copy of "Hitler:The Last Ten Days" and the back cover shows German Officers teaching civilian weapon how to fire Lugers! Ted

But none of those Scenes was in the movie. I was sort of dissapointed in it. It was okay maybe 4.5 on a 10 scale. I had to put in Where Eagles Dare to feel better....now that is a War Movie combined with an Espionage movie. The color on the film is outstanding! Ted

Ted,

Even though you detest what went on in "Schindler's List" the movie does show probably more "Lugers" than any one moving picture.

I too do not like what went on during that period, but alas, cannot alter one second of that time, but I would if I could!

Except for some bad Luger & Walther PP press when both failed to fire in the same scene!! Fortunate for the Rabbi though.

in Where Eagles Dare, you can even tell the gun had strawed parts, and a wood bottom mag! Must be a WWI rework, lol!

Ted, I wasn't surprised because I didn't remember that scene. I liked "Hitler: the Last Ten Days" though and thought it was good portrayal of "The Bunker."

I remember a TV movie,I think it was based upon Albert Speer's book but don't remember for sure. It had a scene where civilians, including Eva Braun, are being taught how to fire P.38s. They are shooting them at wine bottles.

I'm with you on "Schindler's List." Although I thought it was an excellent movie, it was depressing and one I have not wanted to watch again.

"Saving Private Ryan" is also depressing but I still enjoy the movie because of its portrayal of what it was like to be a "dogface" during the War.
