Post MY LUGER LP08 BOOK IS NOW AVAILABLE

Dear friends,
I am very glad to inform you that my book on the Luger Artillery model is now available. This is the first book completely focused on the LP08 models, from the pre-production one up to the Mauser commemorative.

Please look at my LP08 site for further information:

http://lugerlp08.free.fr/

Let my know your opinion.

Ciao

Ciao Mauro,
I just looked around the book's website. It looks like a great book but I'm afraid that my Italian isn't very good. If you produce an English version at some point, I'll definitely buy one.
Best regards,
John

Hi JohnF,
please note that a big part of the book (all captions of 190 pictures) is traslated into English. Actually the captions summarize the most important topics of each chapter.

Angry

I couldnt view it, all I get is funny blank boxes with the colored smaller box in the upper left corner of the larger blank box! Same thing happened when I tried to view Ed's Suffix page!
Click Here to see Thor's messed up screeen!!!

This is really frustrating, NONE of the pictures on ANY of the pages will display on my PC NO MATTER HOW long I wait. It looks like a very nice site too!

Italian is a marvelous language to read and after a few pages will probably only require going to the dictionary every once in a while. If you know Spanish, it will be a snap. It is nothing like French or chicken crap.
I am going to give this book a try, as is.

Ted, mine did the same thing, but then after a couple of minutes the pictures came through?

For some reason, Mauro's book page is very slow to load - as is Ed's very nice suffix site. It's probably all the graphics on Ed's page and the same on Mauro's although I suspect that Mauro's animations are further slowing his page down Both are well worth the wait though IMHO.

Hi John,
I know that my site is very slow to load. As far as I know this is a problem of my provider. I have an ADSL connection and I can assure you that the troughput on the line is very low. Actually the size of pictures and animation is little.
I will ask to the provider explanation on this behavoiur.
Please be patient.

Ted,

After viewing the picture of your computer screen-----it is very obvious what your problem is------. It is explained very clearly in the upper left corner (America on Line)!

I agree wholeheartedly Ted... try visiting the same site using Internet Explorer or Netscape and see if it works... If it does... AOL's proprietary browser is the culprit.

Mauro, If I am reading your publishers web page right the price appears to be Euro 18.00. If this is correct what would shipping be? The total please, for those of us who would like to know...Jerry Burney

Dear Jerry,
the book price is 18 euros in Italian book store but for online purchase the price is:

16,2 euros.

So for all forum friends the price is 16,2 euros plus post charge. The post charge from Italy to USA are 15 euros.

The total price is 31,2 euros.

Ciao

That comes to about $34 USD. Sounds like a bargain.

I think the problems with Mauro's site aren't at his end. I found everything to load very quickly and without problems. You obviously can't expect that performance with a dial-up connection, but broadband users should see no issues.
