1899 or 1900 Luger

I received a Luger from my grandfather some time ago. He got it as a gift from his father after World War II.

My great grandfather was apart of cleaning up battle areas during the war, and said he took this Luger off of a dead Nazi (German) Officer.

Grandpa said the gun was always “shiny” and never dark. Grandpa kept it in a box and never even cleaned it since he got it from his father.

I have done a lot of research and either I have the Holy Grail of Lugers, or a Frankenstein Luger.
I only see the number two and number six in places that don’t normally have numbers

Wow, very cool

Looks like a 1900 in the white? However, it has a much longer barrel on it than normal.

What is the caliber?

Safety is in the up position - behind the grip safety is really polished/bright -

Looks like an unfinished commercial 1900 with Dished Toggles, leaf spring, a long frame and a 150mm barrel.
The barrel should have 4 lans instead of 6.
Are there any stamps on the barrel at all ?
Are there any proof marks at all?

I'm going to guess it was an un-finished luger that left the factory without being blued and test fired.

To me, it looks like the same “T” There is on the inside of the trigger and under the chamber area. But it is not completely clear.

Under the toggle has inscription. Per Aarron Davis’s book it looks like Landwher unit marking - instead of a serial number -

This is all why I’m so puzzled.

But the single “2” is printed on most parts that have anything on them
