Latest LP08 to my family
My puppy stands guard over my latest LP08 ... a 1916 DWM attached to a stock & holster by his feet. All matching (390 a) except for the take down lever (27) and the mag. There is a chip in the stock lug which doesn't affect its attachment to a stock. IMO it adds a ton of character. Both grips are numbered as is the firing pin and hold-open. I also acquired a 1916 Artillery holster in a separate deal. Makers Mark C.Billep, Spandau That brings to 3 the number of LP.08's in my collection From Top to Bottom: 1917 DWM, 1916 DWM, 1914 Erfurt All 3 have the front & rear precision sights.

Real real nice! Save some Arty’s for the rest of us though ! Seriously nice rig you put together, I like them with a few bumps and bruises like you said it gives them character. An Arty is on my short list just need to cash back up and find the right one. Congratulations and enjoy!

Greg, Nice! Great rig..but slide that double mag pouch off the carry strap. Not a good look for an Artillery. Makes it look like there was a Sailor in the woodpile.

Cool Jerry .. the dog has been bugging me to use it for a double milk-bone carrier on his leash anyway. ... he always was a salty dog.
The new 1916 was meant to be my 'shooter' Arty but the more I explore it the less inclined I am to use it as a shooter ... the hunt goes on

He's a beauty! Bet HE"S a swimmer! Part lab by his looks. He's giving you good advice. I have a 1915 that I have shot but I better quit. SAY! Hows your saddler coming along with my patterns?

I still haven't gone over there yet ... My Dr. and I are waiting for operating theater time for my Thoracic nerve burns but Covid has really upset the medical procedure schedules here. Until then I am in so much pain I can barely move.
Ultimately I would like to have a #'s matching Artillery for each year of WW-1 & a 1914 DWM to go with the 1914 Erfurt ... hey - I can dream can't I ??

Very nice rig!!
Our pups are about 9 months old right now, they have been the most difficult dogs we've ever had in house training (good after I don't know how many months ), bark at the other one that has the ball (he let Scout take it from him), and just awful dogs ! Of course they are still great, but tiring

Great score! One has to wonder about the story behind that chipped stock lug. It probably took some serious force to break it off like that...

Most handsome trio!!!! The missing piece from the stock lug does add much intrigue to this wonderful piece.
Congrats, ron |

All we're missing is the year, maker, and the compulsory beauty shots of the latest!

LOL ... I hear ya ithacaartist ... it's amazing how my age has affected my drive these days.
A simple thing like adding photos and script suddenly seems like climbing Mt. Everest. The gun is a 1917 DWM and is a bit rougher than I would like but hey so am I. I will work on getting 'beauty' pics taken and uploaded.
