The story is I got these with a reblued/import 1916 DWM luger. If these are legit, and the original magazine it came with it looks like I nearly got the pistol for free.
I paid $475, and I was an ignorant buyer. I just saw a shooter quality Luger under the glass and new what ever it was, if it shot then I can't lose. I bought it from a gun shop as a consignment sale, so I don't know who the seller was. In no way was I taking advantage of anyone, and the shop employees must have been oblivious themselves as well. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Sorry I can't answer your questions because if you don't upload your photos directly to the Lugerforum, and instead use a commercial storage site like photobucket, the majority of the members who could possibly answer (including myself) cannot see your photos because a corporate or government firewall at their place of employment will not allow access to the public storage site.
Please use the "Go Advanced" method of posting instead of the "Post quick reply" method and it will offer you a method of uploading images directly to the Lugerforum.

I think the problem is that new folks don't take the time to read the FAQ and the sticky threads... They just don't know rather than they just don't care. I know it is frustrating when I can't see what they want me to look at.

These are reproduction grips, not worth more than $20, or so.

I think the pics are uploaded now, thanks Rick, and welcome. Originals would have two holes on the back of each scale. These holes should be tapped with the same thread as the grip screws. Also, copies are usually made by casting molds from an existing pair of originals. This process, unless a pristine pair is copied, takes along all of the wear and tear and/or distortions of the example used. Your grips have one large hole each, and although I can't tell from the pic for sure, the fronts are also suspect.

I am quite sure that many members know this test, but heat a needle red hot and touch the underside of the grip; if smoke or smolder appears they are fake. Real one have no effect what so ever. It is like touching a cement stone with a hot needle if they are real. I have tried this on MANY occasions. Most are disappointing.

You're right thanks, sometimes these things seem quite obvious but it's always better to remind them.

The hot needle also works on mother of pearl grips, vs. mother of toilet seat (plastic).
