1918 DWM with arsenal barrel re-work?

Dear forum members! Please hel with this Po8 manufactured by DWM. This one has all numbers matched except the barrel - it has a different # but also has some additional marking - is this period done arsenal re-work?

Isn't the proof in front of the trigger guard next to the take-down spring protrusion also an Erfurt proof? Wouldn't that make the frame Erfurt as well?

Yes - Frame shows an Erfurt proof...

Perhaps someone swapped the toggle train on an Erfurt Luger.....

Takedown lever, Sideplate both DWM numbered with no Erfurt proofs. Upper receiver DWM proofed. There are no images of the toggle, but from the description, it is also DWM.

So far, a bunch of matching DWM parts placed on a matching number Erfurt frame with a mismatched Erfurt barrel.

The front of the frame appears ground, (see especially end of frame lug area directly above takedown lever). A good photo of the front of the frame showing the serial number would help to determine this. It looks like it was ground down and renumbered to match the balance of the parts.

This IS a strange one.

That is not an Erfurt proof on the frame. It is a Revisions Commission stamp, and although it is infrequently encountered on a DWM, the frame really is a DWM.

I reiterate my contention that the frame has been scrubbed and renumbered, although in a very close font. The extractor is a mismatch.

While I have seen factory issued frames with a flat front, the dramatic FLAT on the front of this frame in the photos leads me to the same conclusion/speculation as Doug.

However, the first photo of the assembled gun from the same viewpoint does not show the upper receiver projecting past the frame a significant amount when the toggle is down. This seems to disqualify our shared conclusion...

But look at the grinding across both lugs and the total lack of edge radiusing, which would be expected. It almost looks like a straight, lop-off job that left very sharp edges. The short appearance of the scallops on either side of the upper receiver may indicate that this was trimmed back as well.
