Default If you have a moment.....

I'm trying to get a new server on-line (yes - for this and a number of other web areas I run..). So - if you have a minute - could you please pop over to the new server and tell me if there is an appreciable performance difference (all the messages from a few minutes ago have been moved - so the board loads should be about equal).. Thanks for any feedback..!!!!

Default Yes !!!

Yes, John...

I do see a difference. I have DSL service but inside the Message Board, it did take a bit of time to scroll through messages and to go "back".

Looks like your new server is a winner !

John, seems a little quicker on the 'back' button, the current one was getting really slow and somewhat non responsive. By the way, did you get my mail about Costanzo's book? I found a copy in VG condition for $200, that is a good price.

I'm getting much faster post pullups and very much faster loading and returns to index

Very good service I'd say.

Default Muuuuch Much Faster.

I am on a cable modem and the new page loads about 3-4 times faster. I really hope you do move the forum. Although I won't play Spider near as much.

Default Thanks All....!!!!!

Thanks for all the feedback - it is REALLY appreciated!! Based on your replies - I'm going to move the existing site (and the P-38 and the PP-K sites) to the new server. At the same time I'll probably re-route it through another circuit and gateway - but all that should be transparent to you - except for the increase in Forum response times...

As well - another benefit (selfishly for me ) is that the new OS and server can be remotely managed (in case you forget your user profile password) - for example....

Anyway - later today, this server will be off-line for a bit - when it comes back on - it will be on the new systems/server... I'll post a note when it is moved...

(And nope Herb - can you resend your e-mail about the book?? I can't find it in my backlog of e-mails!! Thanks!!!)

Best to all - and see you on the new site!

John D.
