Default SS knife

Any info you guys could give me on this? Its a friends not mine but he doesn't know much about it other then his grand father brought it back after the war. He just got it from his fathers estate and is curious about any info he can get on it. I figured you guys may be able to shed some light on it.

For what it's worth.. it does not look like most of the 'accelerated ageing' reproduction ones I have seen..

That's the real deal. This is a model 1933 SS dagger, presented to each SS member upon induction into the organization. It is especially nice to see it still has the original, leather belt loop. I haven't looked recently, but these were going for around $1,500.

Have your friend post it on www.germandaggers.com for serious collector's opinions and value.
