Been collecting for a while now these are just a few pieces that I have collected. Sold many items I wish I had back in my possession nowadays. As I am sure all of us have done.

Hi Wayne,
Very nice pictures. I really loved both the M40 and M42 helmets. I used to collect militaria also, but I quit few years ago to focus only on firearms. However, I still feel sometime the scracht to get a combat weary looking M42 single decal. Just like you, sometimes I get some free time to take a few pictures. Here are a few of them... the medals you see here are the only stuff left from my former collection (with the exception of the medal bar - Oh, how I miss that one). Douglas |

The revolver is a French St. Etienne, used by the French through WW1.
Good question on the safety markings. I think mainly because there is no enough flat surface on a P38 to write out Gesichert and "S" and "F" work just fine. I'm sure our German linguists will comment, but I also think "Gesichert" was an archaic word meaning "Made safe" or "To make Safe" where simply "safe" would do. |
