Luger ammunition

I noticed these were made during the war was it also made for Krieghoffs and other lugers?

Ammo is ammo...the gun it goes into doesn't matter. EXCEPTION! ammo made for machine guns is too hot to be used safely in pistols.

Wasn't there special ammo made specifically for the carbine models?

You are absolutely correct. The 7.65mm carbine ammo manufactured by DWM had a "471A" headstamp and a blackend case to indicate it was loaded a bit hotter than standard 7.65mm ammo.

My first answer only addressed the 9mm ammo and didn't consider the 7.65mm loading. Sorry 'bout that

The containers for steel cased 9x19 rounds also carried a warning label, warning for possible stuck cases in the chamber of the P08.

Mauser eventually developed a special reamer that would allow a gunsmith in the field to remove the step in the chamber of the P08. Mauser P08 pistols were reinforced to allow for the extra impact of the newer, slightly hotter, 9mm loads also.

There is no difference in ammunition for P08 pistols of one pistol manufacturer or the other. The round was known as the 'Pistolenpatrone 08' and all guns that were chambered for it would be able to fire the rounds, although there were some warnings issued here and there.

It's on the label. It is for the 7.5mm Swiss Model 1882 revolver. It was a Nagant design, I believe, essentially the same as the 7.5mm Swedish and Norwegian revolvers.
