Default Luger receiver question

I'm a new luger owner and by looking at the parts listing on this website, there is some disparity between the diagram and what the corresponding parts are called. Is the luger receiver the portion of the gun that the barrel is screwed into, that I would call the slide or is it the grip frame?

Welcome!
The receiver would be the part the barrel screws into.

Welcome to the forum

I think 'receiver' because it is stationary, a slide moves back and forth (ala a 1911A1)

This information may or may not be beyond your question, but you should know that in the eyes of the BATFE, the grip frame is the controlled serial numbered part... not the upper receiver...

Personally I think it should be the upper receiver since you can fire a single shot without the grip frame installed... (NOTE: THIS PRACTICE IS NOT RECOMMENDED!) ...but unfortunately I am not paid to make decisions for the BATFE...

As John pointed out, there is no rhyme or reason to BATF's determinations. Examples;
AR15/M16- Lower receiver, (pistol grip area) is controlled part
FN FAL- Upper receiver is controlled part
M79 grenade launcher- BARREL is controlled part!!

Great thanks for the info. I should have mentioned in my original post that I was looking for what BATFE calls the "receiver".

Smith, By definitioin, the receiver is the part that contains the sear. Since the Luger and the Ruger .22 pistols are the only two hhhhpistols that come to mind where the receiver is not the frame, perhaps that's why the ATF has over looked these. In Europe, most countries consider the barrel the controlled part. TH
