Default Slugged Barrel of 1925 DWM

I went to Outdoor World and they had soft lead fishing bullet weights. Brought in my digital caliper and went to work. The bags were zip lock and the salesman said help yourself!!!!!! I found 1 that was exactly .3095 and 1 that was around .330. I took the barrel off and put in leather and vise. Hoppy's #9 oil and slugged both. The average is .3095!!!!.

I can only find .309+ hard cast lead bullets from 1 supplier. Will this effect accuarcy alot and leading?????? Need input from the 30 Cal Pro's here. I can live with cleaning more often but the accuracy maybe bothersome. The jacketed are .309 and should shot good but I prefer lead hard cast. Cheaper and when I use to shot I shot alot of rounds. What do you'all think????? Any suppliers of hard lead cast please let me know, Thanks!!!!!

I can't contribute to the diameter issue, but I have loaded a lot of 125 gr. round nose cast bullets in 9mm for use in all my 9s, including Lugers, brooms and SMG's. I have toyed with powder charges and lengths, but I have yet to get a 4" Luger to feed them well. The Artillery and the Navy eats them well, but all 4 inchers fail to feed reliably, which I can only attribute to the "roundish" nose shape.
Seller and Belloit jacketed always seems to work in them.
From now on I'll spend a bit more for jackted bullets for my 9mm reloads.

Default Luger 30 Cal

What about 30 Cal luger hard cast lead Round Nose Level Base??????? 90 grain????? I shoot 125gr Truncated Flat point in my Browning Custom Mark III with no problems. Tightgroup powder. Novak Custom will shoot anything. The original bullets were round nose jacketed I believe so lead round nose should work. Just get the OAL correct...........The Hornady jacketed flat nose I think would be harder to get to shoot to find the right OAL.

Pat:

Here are two accuracy loads for the Luger (4 inch barrel) in 9mm, using the Hornady 124 gr. FMJ FP.

WW cases, Remingtron 1 1/2 primers, OAL of exactly 28.7mm

Power Pistol 5.4 grs.

SR4756 5.5 grs.

These shoot three shot groups, to one hole, at 25 yards for me (double hand held over a sand bag).

There's a cast bullet company you can locate on the web called "Pb Boolits" that offers a 90gr round nose cast listed as for .30 mauser in a nominal .308, but also offers it in .310 dia...it might work for you....it looks like they make quality stuff in a zillion shapes and calibers....just ordered some .320 cast for my Nambu.... their address is www.unobtainamite.com
