Has anyone given any thought to returning home by flying if you buy a gun from Ralph? Is it still possible to carry a firearm in your check through luggage? Or will we have to have him ship it to us?

In your check in baggage I have seen several people with guns. As long as it is checked, I don't believe there is any sort of a problem. I myself have not taken a gun in years, but I have flown 5 or 6 trips since September and have seen several people checking in their guns. Also, the signs stating that are still displayed.
I'd still call your airline. I imagine this would only apply to you if you have a C&R or FFL? I mean, if Ralph had a 75% Japanese Nambu holstered Luger, me as a normal no ffl, couldn't buy it and take it home? Or could I? Ed |

Hugh,
My son works for American Airlines and I asked if you can still carry pistols and he said YES, the same rules apply as before. The pistol must be in a hard case, latched/locked, no ammo, and best to remove the magazine from the pistol and just keep in the case. When you get to the ticket counter, advise the agent you have a firearm in your bag. They will have you sign a form and it will be put into bag, out of sight. From there, just wait until you picl up your bag at the destination. If the firearm is valuable, you may want to find out how much extra insurance is from the airline. Marvin C. |

Unless you have a FFL or C&R Ralph would have to ship it to a dealer to be delivered to you.
