This is a Luger from an era that I find very interesting. Police 1921 Dated Alphabet DWM, serial 4266a. Magazine 3 / 4266. With Dove/WaA4 acceptance and proofs, sear safety and remnants of magazine safety. Grip strap Schupo marked S.Br.I. 29. (Schupo, Breslau, Command I, weapon 29)

VERY nice. Thanks for sharing.
FN PS: There's a slang term for those proofs. What was it? Something like birdy, birdy, vulture? |

Fred, Doves and Buzzard. Dave, It is part of a Police contract for 40,000 1920 and 1921 new production DWM Lugers. No suffix, a and b suffix ranges. Approx. 10,000 more went to the military. These are often improperly referred to as Weimar "Reworks". They are not reworked, with the exception of the addition of the police safeties. They were newly produced in 1920 and 1921. Francis, You must have found the Mother Lode. Isn't this the third you've posted recently. A very nice Police. They aren't often found in this condition. Ron

Ron,
Thank you, these are examples that I have acquired over the years. Although I have been registered to the Site for quite some time, just now getting around to posting. Only have a few more to post and that will be the extent of my Luger collection.

Francis, thanks for posting. A very nice example of a Weimar-era police Luger.
This grip strap marking is illustrated in Fig. 11-6 of HWIS.
