I am a new member of the forum and have a P 08 w/ case holster and one magazine. the Luger has 41 stamped on top of the receiver just before the bbl so it was manufactured in 41? byf is stamped on the top of the receiver. 882 is stamped on the lower bbl on bottom side. Eagle over 655 on rt front of receiver (twice) w/ third eagle. 22xx on front of receiver under bbl with script w.Eagle on rt side of bbl just in front of receiver.Magazine stamped with 7806 with scripted g. Any help with what it is and what its worth will be appreciated.
I posted my Luger in the commercial forum but should have posted here. My P 08 looks exactly like the Luger that is referenced by Fenian, a byf42. Mine is a byf41. The only difference aside from the number stamping is the stains on the my grips. You can see pics in the commercial forum (they are not so good) and other info. Appreciate any info that anyone can provide. Hope I have not violated any rules here. |

Okay Paul,
That's it! You will have to forfeit your Luger and pay a hefty fine. We can't allow this sort irresponsibility. ![]() Welcome to the forum. I don't think it's a problem. Our trusty Moderator Mr. Tinker can fix it if need be. ![]() Looks like a nice byf (Mauser code) 41 (year of production). Too bad that the grips are stained. It might be possible to improve them a bit with wood bleach. The 8,82 is the bore (diameter) gauge marking. Eagle 655 are standard proofs for this production. Ron
