Default Side Plate Comes Off While Firing?

Greetings,

I recently acquired a shooter grade Luger P08 and am having an issue with it at the range. While the toggle is undergoing recoil, the locking bolt rotates between the 3 o'clock and 6 o'clock position and the side plate falls to the ground. The barrel / receiver assembly disengages from the frame.

Is there any way to correct this issue? Please let me know if any additional information is needed.

Thank you for your reply!

Probably combined wear of the locking bolt and the L-shaped locking bolt retaining pin.

Start by replacing the pin (or installing it, if it is missing). The locking bolt can be slid out of the frame, revealing the little L-shaped spring that resides underneath it.

There are several sources for replacement springs for the takedown lever. A good one is Tom Heller (Lugerdoc)... find one of his posts and PM him.
