Well, I finally left Texas and transferred to the Chesapeake, VA area. I am now working with the Navy (still wearing Coast Guard uniform) in the Norfolk area. Anyway, as I get familiar with the area, I would like to know if there are any Luger collectors in the area. I would like to, at least, have a cup of coffee (cold beverages available) and chat about Lugers, gun shows, etc.
Thanks, Tony Saliceti "SEMPER PARATUS" |

Tony, I have a couple of luger customers in the Va.Beach area. Don't want to state any names without permission, but if you frequent some of the local gun shops, I'm sure some names will come up. Your posting reminded me of some happy times almost 50 years ago when I was stationed in the Norfolk area. Just remembered the old Norfoik H.S. check when dealing with the "ladies" --- "We don't drink, We don't smoke --- Norfuk, Norfuk, Norfuk". TH

I used to live in Virgina many years ago. The hunting laws were... interesting. They effectively had no bag limit on antlerless deer. There was an active "Hunters for the Hungry" program to encourage mass slaughter of deer over and above the meat needs of the individual hunter. There was a bear taunting season. There was a fish shooting season. The Big Game permit included individual tags to take at least one of about every species bigger than a breadbox. There may even have been a state law requiring every able-bodied adult male to kill some sort of animal every year. What a state!
There were some great gun shows in Richmond at the time, but this was back in the 1990s. H |

So what's wrong with shooting invasive garbage nuisance fish and training bear hounds? All the hounds do is chase the bear up a tree and then you leash up the dogs and carry them home. We can also shoot starlings, English sparrows and pigeons any time any where.

Not a thing is wrong, if only other states were as broad minded as Virginia. Now if Arizona would let us shoot carp... I know this one boat dock... won't need no 30 days, niether... just 10 minutes and a few mags of 7.62x39 and we'll have us a fiesta... fish tacos for everyone!

I also reside in Virginia. Richmond isn't much of a city coming from NY but the gun laws up there are insane. BTW, is there anyplace in VA where fish may be taken by a firearm this late in the season?
