Default Interesting 1918 DWM

Hello All,

I recently came across a 1918 DWM in about 97% contition with an interesting grip strap marking.

The marking is a large 3. followed by a small 6.

Any comments appreciated.

Can you post a photo of the marking. The size and location and orientation of the marking may give some clue as to what it is.

Interesting 1918 DWM. The incomplete acceptance stamps and abbreviated unit marking may indicate a late production piece. The unit marking may be a pre 1922 provisional marking indicating third company, weapon number six. What is the serial number including suffix?
