Hi
The ammo boxes of DWM ammo (471a) for the carbine is marked 0.40 gram powder while the boxes for the standard pistol ammo(471) is marked 0,33 gram and later 0,35 gram. So the Original ammo was defiinitely harder. As far as I know the 6 gram bullet should with the 0,33 and 0,35 loadings have a velocity of 350 mps. I have always been very impressed that the 1902 carbine works at all as the recoilsprings are extremely weak. I don't know what velocity the other manufactures have but Norma ( no longer manufacturs 30 luger) listed that theirs had a velocity of 375 mps. If the 1902 carbine was mine I would first try with standard ammo before thinking of any special ammo. I do however suspect that the gun will have great problems in chambering rounds from the magazine as the mainsprings are so weak. Regards HÃ?Â¥kan http://www.vapensmedjan.com |
