I was planning of adding a Lahti to the collection. Found a guy who has both the Finnish Lahti L35 and the Husqvarna M40. The Husqvarna is in a bit better shape, but both are pretty good. Not knowing the finer points of these pistols, is one model more desirerable than the other. And if so, to what degee. He'll only part with one. Any help appreciated.

There is a fine gentleman on this forum named "Tac" that saved my fingers when he told me the 40 was very weak in comparison to the 35 and that + P loads would take it apart. Please wait for him to respond, he is very knowable about this and many other firearms. Craig

Fazer, From a collecting point of view, the Finns made less than 10K P35s, whereas the Sweds made 100s of thousands of P40s. I think that any comparable condition Finnish, even the Valmet market commericals, are worth more than a Swed. TH

Thanks for the numbers. Just another question. Being that there were less L/35 produced, are they worth any more than the M/40 and if so, what percentige of a premium. I shoot regulary with the guy thats got them Never knew he had them till I rolled up one day with a luger and a broomhandle and he mentioned he had them. Though I want one as cheap as possible I can't in all honesty shaft him. He's had them for a long time.

Hello All,
Tac, by what you wrote about the Husqvarna m/40 that it is not safe to shoot it at all? I had bought one a few years ago as a complete set before I found out there is a difference and that the Lahti is a better gun.(spent only $200sh) I have not shot this gun and I guess I should not, Is that correct? Thank you MG
