Default Luger Tool Proof Mark id?

Greetings,
I was hoping someone could tell me this proof mark on this Luger tool and what county it is associated with.
Thanks.

Mike - Its hard to tell from your picture but it looks like a German Crown/gothic letter issued with Erfurt Lugers during World War 1.

Thanks for the information! Also, were WWI era Luger tools finished with blueing or phosphate?

Mike,

Could you take another photo. directly head-on on the stamping...

This one seems to have "wings" maybe like an eagle or other bird and a head and beak...the Erufrt TD tools usually have a distinctive Imperial crown with german fraktur letter below it...

I played with your photo...but cannot tell what you have...

Never seen anything like it before but it sure has the Imperial flavor.

To me this "acceptance" marking look like a crude attempt to simulate a Simson Weimar eagle/6. I can't swear that it's bogus, without actually seeing it up close, but it you check it under a microscope and see chisle marks (engraving) you know it's not stamped and fake. TH

It looks like an Crown with an R intertwined with another letter or symbol laying sideways.

Excellent comments. Thanks guys! It does look like a sideways R. I am trying to decide whether to purchase it or not. The seller is asking 80 Euros. The stamp is not one I have observed before as well. Yes, the mark is hard to tell if it was engraved! Too many fakes out there for sure! But, I am thankful for this great forum!

Get the seller to measure the thickness of the tool, just in case. Anything over 2.5mm is suspicious.
