This belongs to a friend of mine. It is a 1914 DWM, with an interesting marking. Carl buys almost all of his lugers from bring back veterans or their families and many of his collection is from years ago.

Ed,

Probably a private purchase by the Officer in charge of the Armory. "Aley" could be his name. The 1/72 must be the unit which would be a Freikorps or most likely early provisional Reichswehr unit 1919-1920.

Neat pistol...

I believe that this particular type of unit marking could be associated with the NSDAP.
