Default Rear Frame Numbers and circle-S

As many of you know, I have been collecting data on circle-S marked Lugers. I will be making an interim report near the end of the month.

It is becoming apparent that there is a strong correlation between the circle-S mark and numbers which are stamped on the rear frame of some Lugers, a mysterious feature in its own right.

I would like to include frear frame numbered Lugers in the database, to see if this provides any insight into the c-S mark. I'd appreciate anyone owning a Luger with a number stamped on the rear frame over the lanyard staple to report the following information"

Make
Model
Chamber date (if present)
1920 property mark (if present)
Complete serial number (with suffix, if present)

rear frame number

Right receiver marks
Left receiver marks
Sear or magazine safety
Presence of any marks associated with reworks, e.g:
...eagle/Number
...HzA
...WaA
...PT or PTV
...etc.
Grip strap unit mark if present

Post the information here, or email me dwightg@pacifier.com Thanks very much to everyone who has participated in the c-S survey so far, and thanks in advance for the new rear frame numbers.
