I have an American Eagle 7.65 Luger with a serial number of 18255. All parts appear to match with 55 or 255 numbers stamped on them. I do not see the date of manufactur on the pistol but I have not looked at it in depth as yet. It is in good condition with 90% original blue. The eagle is worn a little but the rest of the markings are good. I would like to put it up for sale but would like to know the year it was made. Everything appears to be original.

According to the serial number it would have been manufactured between 1900 and 1902.

Clarence, there is a classified section here in this forum if you would care to list the pistol. It would also be helpful if you have a digital picture of it to post here. If you can go into more detail (per cent of bluing remaining, strawing left on the parts, condition of the grips, etc.) it would also be more helpful in determining it's value. I don't think there is a better place you can go where the advice is free and so is the advertising (and you have a built-in customer base). Good luck with your model 1900 American Eagle.

Clarence,
I have an AE close to yours in serial range. I am curious as to the front sight; is it a bead sight or a blade sight. These were add-ons and I have seen several in the 18K range that have these. Steve |
