I recently purchased a so-called Black Widow, byf, 1941, with matching numbers except for grips and magazine. The bluing is fairly good with some minor wear on the left side of the muzzle and a little less on the right side. The trigger plate shows considerable wear, as might be expected. On closer inspection, I note that the bluing is almost non-exitant on the entire trigger plate, not just on the high points where one would expect wear. Is this normal, or does this suggest a retrofitted trigger plate?
Thanks for any help you can provide. |

Luke,
There should be a small number inside the sideplate which will be one digit higher than the first two digits of the serial number of your byf 41 if it is the correct sideplate. |

Johnny,
Thanks for the tip. My serial number is 4605p and the number inside is 47. That's a big help. Luke |
