Default Commercial from Canada ?

Came across a completely unnumbered, except for the frame, Luger in 9mm and 6 in barrel. Thought it must have been a commercial with a replacement barrel. This was in a small gun store. The store owner was told the Luger came from Canada where it needed a 6" barrel replacing the 4" according to their laws. I know Canada has strict handgun laws. The only use of them is from the owners house straight to the range and back. Maybe at one time this was privately owned in Canada for range shooting? It was almost devoid of any bluing with very tiny pits toward the barrel end, Any thoughts?

Any firearm with a barrel of 4 inches or less is considered prohibited. Class 12.6. Any firearm over 4 inchs is considered restricted. All handguns are only allowed to the range and back for use. No carry allowed.

Any 12.6 made prior to 1946 is allowed to be passed down to a close and direct family member where it becomes a 12.7 as long as they have an RPAL licence. Any 12.6 that was made in 1946 or later can be sold/given only to another 12.6 licence holder. Eventually there will only be one person who will be allowed to own all of these pistols.

Many Lugers here in Canada have the barrel changed to a 4.5 inch barrel to change their classification from 12.6 prohib to restricted status, thus being able to be sold to a larger group of people. An angel has its wings ripped off every time this happens.

Saying that I have a few 4.5 inch barrels.kicking around in case I run into a frame only Luger. To the untrained eye, most people don't even notice the difference.

Do you have a picture of the 6 inch Luger?

Sorry for the confusion. Just wanted to compare it to a 6" target type that I sold a buddy. Trying to get a picture from him as I speak.

Wasn't questioning whether it was 6". Was giving the lay of the land in our socialist utopia libtard country

I'd like to see the picture. It's barrel and toggle have standard sights.

hard buffed and reblued - with a target barrel - looks more like an artillery size.
You measure from the back of the barrel forward.

I have had 4, 6, and 8 inch put on shooters. So, although that info on Canada is true, its not just them that put on longer barrels. Look through old gun mags and see the ads - you could get any size barrel you wanted.

And, prior to and I am sure after, the canada / USA border is very porous, more so in winter, folks drive right over the ice.
