Default byf 42 wood grip panels

I'm in the market for a byf 42 and found one I'm interested in.
The seller stated that there are no markings on the wood grip panels, would this be correct for a byf 42?

My byf 41 has E/566 and the last two digits of the serial number stamped on the inside.

Hi Chris,
My byf 42 has unmarked grip pannels and I am quite sure they are original to the gun.
Cheers,
Jason

Hi Chris, wooden grips for 42 byf grips should be marked with the last two digits of the serial number of the pistol. Some will also have waffenamt marks (E/135 for 42 byf). These grips could be marked with E/135, if they were field replacements (or perhaps post war).

Hope this helps.
